Call for Proposals to Host the ICACIT Symposium 2027
ICACIT invites higher education institutions to submit proposals to host the 2027 International Symposium on Accreditation of Engineering and Computing Education (ICACIT Symposium), its flagship annual conference.
The ICACIT Symposium is Latin America’s leading event focused on quality assurance, accreditation, and innovation in engineering and computing education. It brings together an international community of academics, researchers, industry representatives, and government leaders to exchange best practices and advance educational standards.
Interested institutions are invited to submit a proposal demonstrating their capacity, facilities, and commitment to hosting a high-quality international conference in coordination with ICACIT.
The ICACIT Symposium
The ICACIT Symposium is the most important event in Latin America focused on educational quality assurance and accreditation, as well as on the application of engineering and computing. It brings together an international community of educators, researchers, and professionals from academia, industry, and government.

Overview of the Organizational Process
- The ICACIT Symposium is organized under the auspices of ICACIT, the Symposium Steering Committee, and an IEEE Technical Sponsor for paper indexing in IEEE Xplore®.
- The selected local host institution works in close partnership with the Symposium Steering Committee to plan and execute the event.
Conference Scope
The Symposium program includes:
Three days of core activities (keynote lectures, workshops, self-study exhibitions, etc.), plus an optional off-site day (typically held between September and October).
Plenary and parallel sessions, workshops, panels, and paper presentations.
Cultural events representative of the host city.
Dedicated networking activities.
Requirements for the Co-organizing Institution (Venue)
Required Equipment
The host institution is expected to provide at least five (5) fully equipped venues, including:
- Multimedia projector (LED screen)
- Wireless internet access
- Wireless microphones
- Sound system
- Laptop or equivalent presentation equipment
Required Spaces (5 venues)
- Venue 1: Main Plenary Hall (Auditorium-style, capacity ~150 participants)
- Venues 2 & 3: Workshop Rooms (Classroom-style, capacity ~50 participants each)
- Venue 4: Self-Study Report Exhibition Room (U-shaped setup, capacity ~30 participants)
- Venue 5: ICACIT Operations Room (Boardroom-style, capacity ~10 participants)
Additional Requirements
- Designated spaces for coffee-break networking.
- Facilities for the opening cocktail reception and official dinners.

Important Dates
- Proposals to host ICACIT 2027 in Peru: Submission deadline – June 30, 2026
- Proposals to host ICACIT 2028: To be designated by ICACIT in coordination with a Latin American institution.
- Proposals to host ICACIT 2029 in Peru: Submission deadline – June 30, 2027

- Completed Host Institution Proposal Form (click to download), duly signed by the highest institutional authority.
- Photographs of the proposed venues, including available equipment, as well as a description of the institutional sponsorships offered for the event (e.g., opening dinner, traditional dinner, closing cocktail, etc.).

Institutions may submit preliminary inquiries or informal expressions of interest prior to the submission deadline, or request coordination meetings for further clarification.
Proposal Evaluation
All proposals will be evaluated by the ICACIT Symposium Steering Committee based on the following criteria:
- Strength, experience, and diversity of the local organizing team.
- Quality, suitability, and capacity of the proposed venue and host city.
- Accessibility and affordability for participants.
- Institutional sponsorships, such as opening dinner, traditional cultural dinner, closing cocktail, and related support.
Final selection will be made by the Steering Committee following review meetings after each submission deadline.
